TENANCY IN NIGERIA

Quit Notice doesn't mean: 1. That rent payment for the period stated in it and/or any arrears have been waived. 2. That you should use the period and find alternative accommodation and if you don't, the landlord should have "patience". 3. That you shouldn't pay utility bills or behave anyhow.

On the contrary, it means: 1. That your relationship as tenant with your landlord will cease upon the expiration of the period stated in it. 2. That upon the expiration of period stated therein the landlord turns to "owner" and the tenant turns to "occupier". 3. That it's the first step in the process of recovering possession of the apartment from the tenant by the landlord. When in doubt, ask your lawyer. Not your neighbour😂. #Tenancy
